We are convinced that we can thrive only if people around us thrive too. In these challenging times, we again put the safety of people as the foundation to supporting the health and livelihood of employees and the communities around us.
Our three guiding principles:
- Health, safety and trust of our people
- Safeguard the continuity of our business and appeal of our brands
- Support to the communities who are most impacted
In view of those principles, we have made the following commitments:
-
For our people: we support the health and safety of our employees at all times. Our company is continuously ensuring that those employees who work in production and sales follow strict hygiene and social distancing guidelines in addition to receiving the necessary support to do their jobs safely. When possible, our employees work from home.
-
For our customers: we are scaling up initiatives in support of customers.
-
For our communities: we are deploying initiatives in support of the communities living around us in Phnom Penh. This includes the donation of masks, hand sanitizers, and food.
Local Initiatives
We understand that COVID-19 is devastating for the world around us and our local communities in Cambodia have been particularly impacted due to the decrease in tourism, travel restrictions, and various other factors beyond control.
Through our brands, we have organized a variety of campaigns to support our employees and communities. Over the last two years, we have provided food and safety kits to thousands of families, encouraged adherence to safety measures in our marketing, and executed a successful vaccination drive for all our employees and 3rd party employees.
Anchor’s 2020 and 2021 Donation Campaigns
Through HEINEKEN Cambodia's premium brand, Anchor, we have organized two campaigns to support the communities around our brewery in Phnom Penh.
Anchor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe Awareness Campaign
HEINEKEN Cambodia Employees and 3rd party employees Vaccination Events
In May of 2021, we organized two companywide vaccination events that provided both doses of the vaccine to our 700 employees plus the majority of our third-party employees. This effort was made in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Vocation while following the strictest safety measures.
Tiger’s “Stay safe, Roar at home” campaign and Local4Local initiatives
Tiger has organized two main projects to support our local communities.
Through our ongoing campaign, “Stay safe, Roar at home”, we encouraged our communities to choose safe activities at home while emphasizing the importance of following the health guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Health. We shared activities that can be done at home and provided educational materials to provide awareness of how to follow the safety guidelines.
In May of 2021, Tiger contributed to Project Local4Local. This initiative was created by Cambodian teenage groups with the purpose of supplying food to people in-need in the city of Phnom Penh. The project taps small food vendors to prepare the food which is then delivered by Cyclo drivers. This provides jobs for members of the community as well as helps people to adhere to social distancing guidelines by staying at home.
